Vasilis Grammatikopoulos, Ph.D.

He is currently Professor in Preschool Education Assessment and Head of the Department of Early Childhood Education & Care, School of Social Sciences at International Hellenic University (IHU), Greece. He is also Director of the Masters in “Digital & Soft skills in Education Sciences” of the IHU. Vasilis was previously Assistant Professor in Educational Assessment at the School of Education, University of Crete, Greece; Senior Lecturer in Education at the School of Social Sciences, Business & Law, Teesside University, UK; and Post-doctoral fellow at: a) Liverpool Hope University, UK; b) University of Thessaly, Greece; c) University of Macedonia, Greece. He has led, supported, and participated in numerous funded international research projects (total funds over 10M) in the field of education, and his main research interests are educational assessment, research methods and early childhood education assessment. He has long research experience in the education context as his research publications (over 30 research papers in peer reviewed international journals) are in the field of assessment and measurement in education. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the European Early Childhood Education Research Association (2015-2018 EECERA) and is a member of the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI).
